Performance Motor’s Chinese campaign, “The 5 Elements”, took home the Grand Prix at this year’s SPH iink Awards. The campaign, which ran in Lianhe Zaobao, also won the Gold prize in the Print Single/Campaign – Chinese category.
DDB Group Singapore bagged the coveted Creative Agency of the Year award at this year’s SPH iink Awards.
The agency’s creatives were behind seven of this year’s winning entries, including the Gold winner for the Print Classified/Recruitment /Notice category, Republic of Singapore Air Force’s (RSAF) “We Are One Force” advertisement. DDB’s entry for Ministry of Communications and Information’s (MCI) retirement campaign, “What’s Your Plan?”, also won the Best Of prize in the Content Marketing category.
Close to 400 entries were submitted for this year’s awards, and the winners were announced tonight at the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA).
The SPH iink Awards, now in its 13th year, is one of Singapore’s biggest advertising awards celebrating the best works from the advertising industry. This year, it harked back to its core of celebrating the best advertising work done locally by Singaporean and Singapore-based creatives with its theme, “Made in Singapore”.
Winning entries and finalists of each category were given points, with the entry that received the highest cumulative score awarded the Grand Prix. Similarly, the same points system was used to award the iink Creative Agency of the Year and the iink Media Agency of the Year.
Starcom Media Worldwide was declared this year’s Media Agency of the Year with six entries ranked as winners and finalists.
“The scale of the creativity displayed in this year’s winning entries across our print, digital, radio and outdoor platforms shows how impressive our locally made ads are. As a publisher, it is our honour to recognise talent such as these, and we hope to see their creativity continue to flourish and shine in the industry,” Elsie Chua, CMO of SPH, said.
Other winners include Grab Singapore’s “JustGrab Live Challenge”, which took home the gold in the Outdoor Media category, as well as the “Courts CNY Motion Ad” in the Mobile Marketing category.
The winner of this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards, which is determined by five rounds of voting by SPH readers, was also announced during the awards presentation.
The ‘Singapore Budget 2017’ advertisement by Deloitte Singapore received this year’s nod from the readers. This also won the gold prize in the A1 – Print Single – English category.
There were 12 main award categories this year, including two new additions, Content Marketing and Mobile Marketing.
