Starcom has retained the media business of BMW Group in China after a competitive pitch, three years after winning the business from Carat.
It will see the agency continue to work on BMW and Mini covering online and offline media planning and buying, as well as content and performance.
It is understood Carat were bidding to re-capture the business it lost in 2015, with OMD and Havas Media also involved in the pitch.
Publicis Media Greater China chief executive Bertilla Teo said Starcom has developed a “great partnership” with BMW and built a “strong foundation” for further growth.
“I am excited that we are continuing with this partnership to accelerate their business in one of the most dynamic markets in the world,” she said. “Starcom is committed to delivering effective, data-driven solutions by leveraging our solid auto expertise to unlock new and exciting growth opportunities for their business.”
